This is my favorite time of year. No, wait…maybe it’s harvest. Each season is rich with its own goodness. New life of spring is so exciting. Summer amazes us with continued growth and flowering. Fall harvest confirms bounty from hard work. Even in winter, barren trees strike me with their majestic structures. I can’t decide!
Can you choose a favorite season?
I wish you could hear the hum of farmers planting new crops. Little compares to the getting ready for the summer season and eventual harvest ahead!
I circled the yard over the weekend during our fantastic weather to see what’s blooming. There isn’t much yet, but a couple of things are really showing out!
Our heavy bloomers are show-stoppers, for sure. The snowball bush steals the show.
The spirea is young but working hard at being a beauty!
The daisy patch has been blooming for a few weeks now.
HH moved a sprinkler head so water will reach them fully. I hope they’ll bloom longer this year. Do any of you know whether daisies re-bloom all summer with regular watering?
Finally, some blooms other than white!
We can always depend on Knock-out roses for rich color!
You might have noticed that things are sparse in our bush beds. Remember last year when we tore everything out for HH to install a sprinkler system? (WBW #52 – Why You Shouldn’t Fear the Ugly.)
As you can see, I have much to do outside this year! But, what’s the rush? I think it’s best to take your time with plant decisions. Do you agree?
Are you planting anything new this year?
