Do you remember Mr. and Mrs. Garden Party and their amazing back yard (part 1 and part 2)? I could hardly wait for today to arrive so I can show you what they’ve done! This summer, they added a garden feature you’re going to love – just as fabulous as all the others in their back yard.
You may remember their sitting porch under the pergola. I had to snap this picture of the new fabrics and pillows on the iron day bed. This spot is calling me to nap inside that nest of pillows!
Mr. and Mrs. GP, if you come home some day and see a large lump under those pillows…just a warning. It just might be me.
Behind the day bed, there are two spaces – the first of which you’ve seen before (in part 1). It’s the second space beyond that contains today’s feature – a potting sink (antique, of course).
The cast iron sink sits over this cabinet of rustic wood. Mr. GP is such a handy guy!
Let’s get a closer look.
Mrs. GP says the dirt trough is very handy when filling pots. Don’t you love the burlap drape around her pot of mums?
The contrast of texture is perfect – rough and chunky slabs of wood with the dainty chair in the colorful shiny finish. The pillow draws your eye, too, doesn’t it?
The shelf below has room to store lots of supplies. Besides that, what a great foot prop while working, seated in the chair.
Above the sink, Mr. GP added shelving for Mrs. GP’s cutesy stuff – plus a few storage containers for this and that.
Function is number one on my list, but cute has to be a very close second.
Thank you again, Mrs. & Mrs. Garden Party, for sharing your space with us. You’re so inspiring!
How about you? Does function come first with you, or does cute over-rule function?
