Welcome to my new site. I’m so glad y’all are here!
I wish I had a big front door to this blog to throw wide open to greet you. That’s how I feel – like you are a guest to welcome into my brand new living room!
Have you ever had something built up in your head, something you thought would be so monumental, and then it turned out to be not so monumental at all? All righty, then, you get how this transition to the .com was for me.
Now that it’s over, and we’re all here, safe and sound…there wasn’t much to it at all. Just a little extra in changing the name on a few social media sites, a few little tweaking techniques, and it was done.
I’m still waiting for the thumbs-up from WordPress that they’ve transmitted all subscribers, and then everything will be complete.
So, hey, if you’re here due to an email notification, please give me a shout out and say
Here! Olah! Bonjour! or something.
It’s refreshing, for some reason. I can’t explain it really, except that it’s like when the boxes in your new home are unpacked, and everything is organized and all clean – just before company, you feel energized for a night of entertaining. (Except, that’s not really what I call the thing I do here.)
We will continue on as before, exploring a new idea or two here and there, trying new things, getting our creative juices flowing, and gaining new inspiration now and then.
Hey! How about now?
That’s right. Right now.
I have a friend named Dawn who has a decorator shop in one side of the building where she and her husband have a builder’s supply warehouse. It’s in Oxford, Mississippi, and I visited recently, as I occasionally do. She has beautiful things in her store, all things lovely, and – my personal favorite part – all things affordable.
If you live near Oxford, you’ll want to visit Dawn at Discount Supply on Highway 6 West. I was particularly interested in the painted chests she has in her shop. Such inspiration!
Don’t you love to get great ideas? Do you often copy things you’ve seen in stores?
Me, too! I’m a true copy-cat. I think I could totally do this one. My painted lines are always wiggly – perfect for branches and twigs.
The birds are adorable, too!
I hope you’ve seen something here today that you’d like to paint on your own. And, if you don’t want to paint something yourself…maybe you’d like to visit Dawn and load something into your truck to take home with you. 😉
If you’re a WordPress follower, you might want to check to be sure you’re signed up for emails if that’s how you’ve been following. Regular email subscribers don’t need to do anything extra – only the WordPress blogs that follow.
Thank you all for following me to my new site. I’m excited to have you along, as always. 🙂
I’m sharing this post with Metamorphosis Monday.
