Here we are at the end of summer.
The last of the garden produce is trickling in.
It doesn’t have to be Thanksgiving for us to be thankful.
And, we are that. Even the farm animals are gathered…huh?
(What are y’all doing out here? You’re supposed to be in the kitchen.)
(Get back inside!)
We’re thankful for delicious summer-time tomatoes.
And the corn. Fresh corn has come and gone, but most folks have put up corn in the freezer. Yum!
Field corn is drying in our fields. Crops to be used for animal feed. Dried corn.
(OH! That’s why the roosters are getting out!)
We have fruit ripening, too. Pears will be ready real soon.
We have so much to be thankful for. Our family, our home, our health.
And we do thank Him. Every day.
We have not what we deserve. For if we did, life would be very different. Hard.
His grace. He satisfies the soul more perfectly than food satisfies our hunger.
Tomorrow, I’ll share recipes, y’all. Because right now, it’s time to serve this meal. And pray some thanksgiving. 🙂 Won’t you join us?
