Did you have a low-stress Thanksgiving? I found that focusing on de-stressing the big meal preparation helped de-stress our whole weekend. Wherever you spent your Thanksgiving, I hope you enjoyed your time with family and friends as much as I did!
As I contemplate the mood I want to encourage in my home for the Christmas season, I think of peace. We can’t control having a peaceful world, or even sometimes a peaceful home, but God can give us peaceful hearts.
Earlier this year, a friend introduced me to the Trail of Peace. Have you heard of that? Maybe you already have it marked in your Bible.
Trail of Peace is a list of passages about peace that are threaded throughout the Bible, scriptures that lead you along a trail of peace. It’s very helpful when I’m feeling the opposite of peaceful.
It occurred to me yesterday that I should share the Trail of Peace with you as we journey through our Christmas season. Since there are 16 different verses or passages along the trail, I’ll share four each Sunday. We will finish with the final four scripture passages the Sunday before Christmas…just in time for us to “sleep in heavenly peace” while singing Silent Night for Christmas.
Thanks for stopping by on this spectacular Sunday. Our Lord is the One and only God of Peace.
