Have you ever owned a real rabbit?
I haven’t. As a child, I had friends with rabbits. It was fun to watch them eat.
PAM gave me this rabbit. Does it remind you of King Tut? Or, is it just me?
I was going to paint it white with chalk paint but decided to enjoy the soft Easter-y colors first.
Tut seems very interested in the basket of carrots.
Sorry, Tut. Fake wicker and straw carrots won’t satisfy your appetite.
I remember feeding carrots to a friend’s rabbits.
And lettuce leaves.
I unfolded the burlap napkin pockets from my Chirping Into Spring tablescape and used them as place mats. I topped them with lettuce leaf place mats, offset into Tut’s reach.
The floral fabric is from our dining room window treatments. Rather than place mats, I made Plate Runners for The Color Purple tablescape way back in early blog days. Two years almost seems like a lifetime ago.
I’m drawn to things all in a row and still love this simpler table arrangement.
In comparison, today’s table looks like it’s suffered a tornado of sorts.
The plate runners form an “X” beneath the other layering.
The patch of green (Spanish Moss Mat – Tutorial) forms a good lawn for egg hunts. Looks like Tut investigated these eggs, but I confess, he didn’t break them.
I could blame it on the table tornado I mentioned, but that’s not the truth, either.
I opened the box this year to find colorful “bits of surprise”. So much for all that work two years ago. I enjoyed them while they lasted, though.
These Dollar Tree baskets were a fun find…five for a dollar. The sidewalk chalk egg inside won’t break…makes for lots of kid fun.
Bunny salad plates are over our everyday dinners and rattan chargers (Wal-Mart).
Since the green carrot plates are on the shelf, I’ll use them next time. Maybe.
These thrift store fruit-patterned stems make a fresh appearance after a nice winter’s rest.
Speaking of appearance, what’s breaking through the soil in your yard? Our red bud trees are in full bloom…beautiful color. I’m sorry I didn’t take a picture, but stepping into the yard is a real mess right now.
Rain, rain, go away!
With several days of rain ahead, we’ll enjoy spring inside for the weekend.
We have family coming for a short visit, and we’re ready for them. Fun tables are set, including the dining room with last week’s Sweet Tweet arrangement.
What will be happening at your house this weekend? Anything fun, rainy, sunny, Easter-y going on?
I’m sharing this post at Tablescape Thursday. Follow Tut Bunny there for the party!
