This seems so basic, I’m almost embarrassed to blog about it. I went years without doing something to solve my problem. So, in the event that you’ve had this same issue, I’m offering the solution I finally found.
Do the handles on your cookware get loose? Mine do. Recently, I decided it was time to end this routine:
Starting dinner, grab a pot…remember handle is loose – too loose to survive another cooking session…run to garage…grab large Phillips head screw driver…return to kitchen…tighten screw under handle (and other pots with loose handles, as well)…return screw driver to garage…back into kitchen…resume dinner prep.
How often do you have to do this? It seems that every time I tighten a loose pot handle screw, it gets loose more quickly the next time.
This Pro Lok brand of Pro Seal Thread Lock is used for bolts and such, approved for high heat, and can be used on kitchen pots without poisoning anyone. You could also use Loc-tite, Vibra-tite, or whatever you find in your garage that is used for stabilizing threads on bolts and screws. (Possibly the label on your bottle is not quite so grungy.)
Just squeeze the solution all around on the threads.
I love to watch HH while he works…and take pictures, making him pause his actions to pose along the way. He totally hammed it up about being the star of the photo shoot for this post, y’all.
It’s not a big deal, but he made it seem like such a BIG DEAL. He makes me laugh!
Now you can fix your loose cookware handles – for the last time. (And, you probably won’t have to promise royalties to a family member who poses for pictures.)
Thank you for visiting! ~ Just a note to remind you to follow me through email, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Google+ or Hometalk. Also, I’d love it if you shared Curtain Queen with all your sweet friends. Thanks, y’all.
