A friend gave me these rooster plates at Christmas. Does she know me, or what?!
Of course I gathered lots of red and black for the occasion.
Three French hens gathered around the center.
Maybe it has something to do with the stud rooster in the picture.

Females are all alike…always vying for a male’s attention.
Peony blooms perfume the air.
Place settings rest on tomato place mats. Plate stacks are topped with red bowls of mint leaves pressed for the release of mint.
The bowls are a repeat of the scroll work on the plates.
Dollar Tree summer stock cups from lasts year give a casual feel to the Dollar Tree stems in smoke.
T. J. Maxx tea towels make nice large cloth napkins.
The collection of hens rests on a French tea towel of vegetables and flowers in the print.
Toward the end of my photo shoot, both dogs appeared for a nap on the porch. (I had to lighten the picture tremendously to get the dogs out of the shade of the porch – and the table looks grossly distorted.)
Dogs asleep on the porch? That’s perfect for a farmhouse. Ha!
What’s happening on your porch?
