I ventured from my cross painting class, changed it up a bit (usually disaster, y’all), and my brush did a little wandering. Not in circles this time as in the last painting. Visit Painted Crosses Tutorial to see how to paint the “loop” crosses.
This one may not be as good, but it was fun, just like the other one. My true love is in painting walls – remember?
Today is the day! I get to paint walls! (Yay!)
Remember Fun Son’s room when I finally hung some curtains? Visit Clip-On Valances for details.
I never shared the truth of the messy room. Dared not show you a picture. Couldn’t let the world see it.
But, here it is, in all its glory, bed unmade and everything!
Yes, he came home from college to spend one night, and before doing any straightening, I snapped this picture. Not to embarrass Fun Son (FS). But to show the transformation with a little time, elbow grease, and “mission organization”. Later.
Keep in mind, in the Fall, FS will be moving to an apartment. This room will be vacant. It has a terrific view. I’m seeing a whole new craft cave, all organized and nice, with the Grandpa bed for an occasional guest. Mostly my stuff in there. Ahhh! (Maybe someday I’ll come clean with pictures of my current craft cave – truly a cave, y’all!)
Spunky Daughter (SD) is our resident wallpaper pealer. The border in her baby room gradually and mysteriously disappeared from above her bed. No scraps on the floor. Very clean little book lice, or SD who loves to eat wallpaper!
Moved that baby’s bed away from the wall, y’all! (She then started eating the paint off her bed, but that’s a different story for another day.)
We still tease her of her skill, and many times through the years, she has helped me rip wallpaper off of walls. She loves it as much as I love to paint the walls!
This weekend, SD and I were motivated.
Not bad, if you’re a deer hunter. But no one in this family is that. It was time. Good-bye, jumping deer – all of you – every one of you – jumping every 12 inches – circling the room, too many of you. Enough of real you in our yard and on our roads to destroy our cars!
OK. Ranting over. I feel better. Onward.
Today I will paint the walls. The curtains I hung last week must come down again (temporarily). Should have waited. But that’s what started this whole thing! Glad I did it, really.
So, after spending today painting, and a few days of SD and I playing mission organization, I’ll get back to you on the new look. Nothing dramatic. Just cleaner. Bed made, I promise! Fresh paint. All that.
And in a better condition for the “takeover” planned for Fall. Happy day, y’all!
