Give Your Table A Country View

Do you enjoy a walk through the country collecting flowers and herbs for your table?

Patricia Poem

Thanks, Patricia, for sharing your poem with us!  See Patricia on Facebook here.  I do appreciate that all this beauty is for free.  You, too?

I didn’t have to walk far to gather my flowers this week.  Apple mint is shooting up out of several pots on our porches.

I included the herb bread and butter plates of parsley, basil, thyme, and sage since I don’t have the real thing yet.  I planted my herb seeds over the weekend.  Hopefully, we can enjoy them soon.

I’m using snowball blooms from the yard…

…and yellow Nemesia I potted last week – resting on the Spanish Moss Mat I made three years ago.  My, how time flies.  Flies?  We’ll get to that later.

Yellow Nemesis

I thought yellow flower accents would be nice here and there for the Sunflower Yellow on our Farmhouse Porch.  You saw the yellow flowers in the background in my Decorative Tip Treasures post.  Did you notice them?

A modern addition with more texture hides the back side of the flower-pot – the teal vase.

Center Collection of Flowers

Dinner plates rimmed with flowers match the plate runner colors – the same fabric as the draperies.

The watering can on the plate begged for a repeat in the center collection!  Golden scalloped chargers remind me of the sun – and flower petals – always great for a country view.

Bunnies are in our country view year-round.  Baby bunnies are the cutest!

Bugs are such a part of country life, I had to work this table-cloth into the mixture!

The Rims

Pioneer Woman flatware again.  It’s almost unbelievable how many place settings this goes with.  And, it’s dishwasher safe – smart woman, that Pioneer Rea!

Yellow Rose Napkin Rings remind me of wild yellow rose vines on a country roadside.

How about this country view?

Kim, we country girls always love our views! Funny thing yesterday, I looked out my dining room window and I saw a turkey walking down my driveway! Sorry, I digressed! Your table is beautiful and I could imagine sitting there, enjoying one of your great recipes, while we chat about our country living! I love all the elements that you used to perfection! My oregano, rosemary, parsley, and thyme are all flourishing…the lavender is struggling from the winter! Happy Tuesday!

Wow! I sometimes here a turnkey gobbling when under cover by the crops. I can never explain to HH exactly where the sound came from…so he can kill it for our Thanksgiving dinner. Ha! Anyway, if we had one in the driveway, it would be in my freezer by now! I guess Butch was out of town? Anyway, thanks for your kind words about this table. You reminded me…I do have oregano in the ground…and rosemary…and French tarragon. I don’t do well with lavender in the yard here. It’s either too wet or two dry during different seasons. I hope yours survives! Tuesday blessings!

It’s strange, isn’t it? We have such cool temperatures, it feels earlier in the year than it really is. Or, is it just me? Is it always this cool in April?
