Yesterday morning I “de-Easter-fied” my decor. I’m not the only one, am I?
It’s Spring, and the eggs were so fun, and all the bunnies were a real kick. The baskets needed to get out of the way, after all. And, let’s talk about hiding the candy!
In keeping with a Spring theme, I kept the bunny dishes (and because I love them so much!!). I packed away the colored Easter-looking eggs, but I kept the painted pottery ones. My decorative bird is so large, I thought the eggs might pass as “large bird” eggs. 😉
The new eggs are lovely (of course I think so because I bought them), and softly colored in natural tones – like real eggs, y’all. They have brownish parts that look a little like dirt or something. I don’t exactly know what, but something.
I thought the eggs were appropriate for a large bird in a large dough bowl nest, with paper gift-bag-type “straw”.
Ahhhh! I love Spring…
And birds…and watching real birds…making nests on my porch…
watching baby birds hatch… and eventually learn to fly.
It’s the stuff of new life…Spring!!
I didn’t get finished with my table, as you can tell in my pictures of no silverware or goblets. I had an ADD moment of distraction. Blog land was calling, after all! I logged onto my reader and came across a fabulous post by a Kansas City blogger who was honored with a guest TV spot on a morning show there.
I followed her link to view the morning show video, and I was inspired…and encouraged. I’d been headed down the right path with the table remix. My de-egging, de-bunnying (mostly), and keeping the Springy stuff were all things a real decorator would do. Isn’t it nice to have a little reassurance and confirmation sometimes?
I’m sure Alycia at Tablescapes at Table Twenty-One would love to have you visit her blog to see her awesome ideas and view the morning show video yourself HERE. Her instructions for finding the video in her link were accurate, so you’ll want to read that in her post.
I hope you’ve enjoyed our time together today, dreaming about birds and baby birds and nests, and stuff. As always, I have loved our little momentary detour.
Tomorrow, I promise…I think…we’ll get back to those vintage button pillows.
Thank you for visiting! ~Just a note to remind you to follow me through email, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, or Google+. Also, I’d love it if you shared Curtain Queen with all your sweet friends! Thanks, y’all.
