Trash to Treasure
Has a friend ever called you early in the morning with an alert?
Hey, besty…the house across the street has a pile of furniture at the curb.
It appears that no one is home. Like maybe they’ve moved.
Something’s been going on over there, but I don’t exactly know the story.
Maybe they were evicted.
Maybe before they left quickly in the night, they piled furniture at the curb – things that wouldn’t fit in their truck.
I’ve already been out to scope it out.
I’ve gathered a couple of things I’d like for my house.
Want to know what else is there?
Another ottoman…there were two – I took one of them.
And some sort of end table or something.
What? You won’t take it until you know for sure they’re throwing it away?
OK, I’ll call around and make sure. You get on over here!
She found it to be for sure a “take whatever you want” situation…and they lived happily ever after.
No, I wouldn’t imagine that happens often.
Years ago this happened, only once in my lifetime. I left the table in its original condition for all those years – fifteen or so. It was time to give it a new look, don’t you think? ASCP is very easy to use. No sanding required beforehand. Just slap on a coat of paint, rub here and there with fine-grain sandpaper, rub a little clear wax on it, and you’ve got yourself a new table.
Do you have a table with special detailing you’d like to highlight? What about a friend who calls you with furniture deal information – can you resist?
