Are you tired of this hurried world? Do you rush from here to there throughout your days?
In this world of constant communication through all of our technologies, don’t you crave a little solitude? Yet, the world tells us it’s wrong to rest. Busyness seems to be our god. Yes, little g.
The big G God didn’t intend our days to be this way. God designed order to our world. Yes, he desires for us to work. But, not all the time.
God created things of beauty for us to enjoy…savor.
He invites us to experience Him in such places. Not for the purpose of feeding our comfort, for that is another little g god of this world. Savor such places for the purpose of finding big G God there – spending time with Him – for relationship with Him. Worship Him there.
Let’s turn off our cell phones…the television…the computer…and find a peaceful place, then open that thing that has God’s words in it. His Holy Word.
The remainder of Romans 12:2 says this:
“…Then you will be able to test and prove what God’s will is – His good, pleasing, and perfect will.”
We can only know Him (and His will) if we spend time alone with big G God. That means making a choice – turning the little g things off. So Big G can give us rest, turn things on in us, transform us, renew us. And we will find Peace there.
No little g can do that.
Let’s celebrate this Spectacular Sunday by worshiping our Big G God…and afterwards finding that peaceful place for savoring time with Him, rest and renewal.
