I had cookies like these in my header all through Christmas and never posted about them.
No one said a word.
The holiday cookies were slightly different, but it’s only a minor adjustment. Gingerbread cookies (made from the Pillsbury pouch) aren’t that different from my Pumpkin Spice version for Valentine’s.
Ha ha! These cookies were such an emergency that I never wrote the post after prepping the pictures. Oh, well, you know how it is at Christmas…
I wanted to encourage you then, and now, that we don’t always have to make cookies from scratch. I’ve shared cake mix cookie recipes before, but sometimes we are tempted by that pouch on the grocery shelf (especially when they’re on sale).
A simple embellishment can make “pouch mix cookies” more tasty – and more fun for special events.
I made the Pumpkin Spice cookies for today’s post and decorated them with red hots.
This time…hearts…and some kisses and hugs.
With Valentine’s Day only two days away, it could be a holiday emergency for you. Thankfully, any pouch of spice cookie mix can be made quickly and decorated with red hots for a delicious accent. (You could use the heart-shaped red hots, too.)
A little spice, a little red hot heat, and you might fool everyone into thinking they’re made from scratch!
