I purchased fabric in January for making new porch cushions. I wish I could say I’ve completed the project, but that’s not the case.
The cushions will be a solid butter yellow outdoor fabric that’s treated with a special sun protector.
With the other yellow highlights on the front porch, like the old ladder, the new yellow cushions should give the porch a cohesive look.
I never liked the old cushions very much.
The print was too busy with all the kitchka scattered about – and the combination of white rocking chairs and black iron chairs.
I removed the cushions altogether from these chairs whenever I set a tablescape on the porch. They never matched much of anything.
Since Sir Winston (Our Best Renovation Yet) chewed the corners of the back porch cushions while he was living outside, I bought enough fabric to recover those. I also got a few yards of coordinating fabric in a white on yellow print.
I’ve never been a huge fan of yellow, so I’m surprised at all the yellow that’s appearing outside – especially on the front porch. Yellow is growing on me.
Welcoming guests through the front door is the new spring wreath that also gives Easter a nod.
Notice more yellow on the numbered planters I painted recently.
Are you getting your porches ready? Our weather this week is very balmy, so spring is upon us here in North Mississippi. Do you have warm temps yet?
