July Fourth is three weeks from yesterday, so I decided to set a table for patriots. I have no fireworks this time, but I found some bread and butter plates in the back of a cabinet that I forgot I bought last fall on clearance at T. J. Maxx.
If you’ve been around for a while, you know how hard it is for me to pass up a steal/deal!
I usually remove the umbrella for tablescapes, but this time I let it stay intact to show its brick-y red. No table-cloth this time because I haven’t gotten around to the project in my head for making a cover with the center hole. I do have more outdoor Sunbrella fabric from covering the porch cushions. 🙂
The dinner plates and burlap chargers are a repeat from last week’s tablescape (The KISS Tablescape Method). I couldn’t resist the American flag.
The salad plate swirls match “the thrill of the grill” and give a little movement to the straight lines of stars and stripes. (Ha! Notice how I can justify anything?)
Stars rim the bread and butters and accentuate the blues around the table.
Do you find it difficult to set a centerpiece with an umbrella? I do, too!
I gathered blue blooms from around the yard and plunged them inside three water-filled mason jars grounded with blue glass stones.
Nikko blue hydrangea, vitex chaste, and lavender are the bluest I found.
Napkins of our nation’s colors rest at each striped place mat corner.
There’s no need for fireworks on such a hot afternoon. Who’d want to fire up more heat?
Is it hot at your house, too? It’s like August weather already here in North Mississippi…high heat, high humidity, and the all too occasional burst of an afternoon thunder-storm.
What are your patriotic plans for July Fourth? Any fireworks?
