We’re heading outside today…for pasta. HH’s favorite food (except for fried chicken, of course) is pasta.
I thought it would be nice to have a special dinner on the porch.
Sorry, friends…another cloudy day…dark pictures again. I lightened them as much as possible, so I hope it helped.
I do have some bright news, though. We have flowers again in The Land of Making Do! 🙂
After last week’s swipe of blooms by the wind (see What’s Blooming Wednesday #22), things are looking much better now. I hope to have some pretty things for next week’s WBW post. Lord, please hold those winds back!
I’m thankful God designed plants and flowers to rejuvenate on their own. With some rain, a kiss of sunshine and a little time, we see beauty again.
Purple Smoke Baptisia is well on its way.
My grandmother’s heirloom white irises are blooming here and there, too.
For Italian scent on the table, I tiptoed around the house (in the sprinkling rain) and clipped fresh sprigs of Oregano. It smells so good!
What says welcome? Nothing better than a welcome sign.
Remember I mentioned the other day in the French Flair Cutting Board post how I painted several things white last summer (Tips to Tackle Tasks in a Timely Way)? The before and after pictures of this sign were included in that post, too.
I bought a pasta bowl set at Williams Sonoma a long time ago. It didn’t seem perfectly practical at the time due to the price. I considered it an investment for special family meals.
Do you sometimes see things that way, too?
We’ve used the set more often than I thought we would. It includes a large pasta serving bowl, too. No room on this table for the server today, though.
For outside, I did a simple napkin/flatware wrap.
It’s fun to eat out on the porch for a change. The weather is great, so we should get out there before it gets too hot.
If you’re not in the south, I guess you don’t have to be in a big rush, though, right? Our lucky northern friends have many more pleasant days before the real heat sets in – and maybe even a few more cool ones.
For a pasta dish idea, check out my favorite tasty pasta meal. (Click picture to see that post.)
Do you like to eat outside, too? Is it warm enough for porch dining at your house yet?
Blessings to you, my friends~
I’m sharing this post at Tablescape Thursday. 🙂
