On Memorial Day, we thank the families of those who gave their lives for our freedom.
We honor the people who sacrificed so much – everything.
The final Monday of every May was formerly known as Decoration Day.
Memorial Day began after the American Civil War.
It was a way to commemorate the Union and Confederate soldiers who died during the Civil War.
A little over 100 years ago, it became the day we honor all men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces.
It’s a wonderful time to pause.
We thank God for the freedom we enjoy here in America.
Such a sacrifice by many who never knew us. Their families gave much. So much.
Do you have plans for Memorial Day…plans to pause and honor those honorable men and women?
I’m sharing this post with Tablescape Thursday. Won’t you join the fun?
