Welcome to our kitchen.
Let me pull out a chair for you. Have a seat for a while, so we can chat. I’d like get to know you a little better. I’ve got questions. So many questions.
Would you like some coffee? See your cup waiting for you there by the coffee pot? Yes, that’s for you.
A little cream, or sugar – or both?
Mmmm. Nice, hot coffee. Now, we can get down to business. Girl stuff. Questions.
Please tell me about your life, where you live. Do you have neighbors right next door?
Do you have friends that stop by? You know, spur of the moment stuff. Like when they need a little face-to-face time. When they’ve suddenly realized they have fifteen extra minutes before waiting in the car-pool line.
Or, they’ve been working all week, tired, but pop by your home for a quick visit.
And they have time for you.
And they want to see you. And talk. And laugh. And share.
Even just for a little while.
What projects do you have going on at your house?
What things get your creative juices flowing?
Sewing? Crafting? Renovating or painting? Cooking?
Any new recipes to share? Excuse me just one moment while I step over to the recipe box for a blank card. So I can write down your delicious recipe. ‘Cause I know it’s going to be good!
Don’t mind Trudy. She’s just wanting to be loved a little bit. Again. (Spoiled rotten old girl.)
I hope you’ve felt comfortable and welcomed in my kitchen today. You see, I’ve been sewing…to get things ready for your visit…in case you stopped by. I’ve been finishing my kitchen window treatments (visit sew or no-sew valance tutorial), getting them hung, to warm up the room and make it more cozy.
Don’t you just love when something so simple makes your life at home a little more pleasant? Simple blessings.
After waiting for the right fabric to come along, and waiting, and more waiting, the Lord revealed the fabric of my dreams. The one with all the colors. My colors. The colors He put the love in my heart for…when He made me.
Yes, He truly cares about the beauty around us. Not that we should worship it. But that we would see Him in it, and worship Him for it.
