“I have come as a light to shine in this dark world, so that all who put their trust in me will no longer remain in the dark.” John 12:46
A Few Words From My Heart
Are you searching for happiness, contentment, fulfillment? Do you end each day feeling emotionally slaughtered by your job, relationships, and our world in general?
We were designed with a yearning inside our souls for an intimate relationship that satisfies and fills our hearts with joy – not just for a short while but for the long haul, through the tough stuff of life. Have you searched high and low for that? Did you put that responsibility of satisfaction on a relationship, such as marriage?
Sometimes we turn to things to fulfill us: the newest technological gadget, biggest house, finest car. Sometimes we search for a new idea to fill us, or a religion. When we don’t find the satisfaction with a religion or a specific church, we blame God.
Why would we blame God for the failures of human-designed religions? We are human and imperfect. The only perfect person who walked this earth was Jesus. He came to be the perfect sacrifice for our sins, and He died and rose again in three days for each one of us. Not just for the religious, not just for the good, but for everyone. And that means you. We cannot be good enough to deserve it, but God in His grace allowed a way for us to be forgiven and fulfilled, and His name is Jesus.
“For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son,
so that everyone who believes in him
will not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 (NLT)
This Bible verse sums it all up perfectly.
If we agree with Him that our means of finding fulfillment have failed, that our sin has brought us only destruction, and that we will look to Him for guidance for our days on this earth, leaving behind our former ways in search of satisfaction, we will find satisfaction, fulfillment, and joy in Jesus Christ.
The Bible is the inspired Word of God, written as our guidebook for a life with Him. If we read it regularly, we find He continuously speaks to us through those inspired words. If we pray regularly, we develop that intimate relationship we’ve searched for our entire lives. But it takes commitment on our part, spending time alone with Him, telling Him your innermost thoughts, seeking His will for your actions, hearing Him and experiencing Him through your time together.
We all need people to pray for us. If you would like me to pray for you, you may send me a message through my contact page. And I will pray for you, because that is what Christians do. Being a Christian is not a religion. It is not a church you attend, but a way of looking to Christ in everything you do. He will fill you and bring you deep satisfaction and contentment. No religion can do that. Only Jesus.
