Welcome, Fall! Do I hear a chorus behind me, singing “Alleluia!” ?
I had not planned to change my wreath until Christmas. But, Spunky Daughter (SD) asked for a fall wreath for the door of the apartment that she and Fun Son share. I needed some things from my front door wreath, so I dismantled it to create SD’s new wreath. (The beach-themed wreath wasn’t doing it for me anymore, anyway.)
I started with last year’s Christmas door decor from their apartment…
removed all things red and green…
added the boingy thingies from my late summer wreath…
added baby corn from my fall stash…
and the back side of a chalk board Painter Artist Mom had painted on the front side…plus ribbon chosen by SD at HobLob…
and wrote my favorite fall message this year.
I sent SD a picture, and she approves. (Delivery there soon.)
Once my door was empty, I grabbed an old wreath out of the attic and added a painted gourd and new ribbon. It’ll do.
If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you may have noticed fun comments by Robin. She shared pictures with us, first of all, of her dog, Quincy. It’s nice to put a furry face with the name. Hello, Quince!
Now when Robin mentions Quincy, we’ll know exactly what he looks like. 🙂
Her fall door decoration she made from a tutorial on Hometalk is wonderful – even better than the one on Hometalk! Didn’t she do such a nice job?
Robin painted the foam pumpkins a darker orange than the original finish from the dollar store. She painted the lettering free-hand rather than with a stencil. Nice!
The burlap ribbon wrapped around the mini wreaths gives a nice contrast to the orange pumpkins. The flowers, leaves, and raffia colors add just the right touch, too. Very nice, Robin!
Robin is welcoming fall by hanging this decoration in her kitchen.
How are you welcoming fall this year?
Happy finally fall, y’all!
