Have you started your Christmas decorating? Please don’t tell me you’ve finished. I barely got started and have a long way to go.
I was determined to have Thanksgiving with no hint of Christmas. You know…to be intentional and live in the moment of Thanksgiving until all family went home and left us alone (last night). Yikes! I’ve got so much to do! We enjoyed our family so much, played games, ate lots of food, laughed, cheered for our team, and ate some more. Ha!
And so today, Christmas decorating begins….
If you’re wishing for something new and pretty, inexpensive, and easy for your Christmas decor, I wanted to share something I discovered recently.
Years ago, I made paper houses from the 2001 Southern Living Christmas book for a special Christmas table on the cheap. Our kids (young at the time) loved it!
My second Christmas of blogging, I brought them out of the storage box (easy, flat storage!) and gave them light again in my White Christmas Dreaming tablescape.
Hey, it was the 90’s, back when we would put much time and labor into the smallest of projects. Thanks to Dollar Tree, we can still have cheap but without so much time and labor. Yay and thank you, Dollar Tree!
I found this post on my Pinterest Christmas Helps board last week. It’s been forever since reviewing the pins there! Do you do that, too – pin things and rarely follow the links and really study them? Ha!
The post I followed contained this Dollar Tree Christmas Village by Debbie at Confessions of a Plate Addict. (Gee, there are two of us. Ha!)
Isn’t it beautiful? This was my head-slap moment.
You’ll see in Debbie’s post how easy and inexpensive this is – much faster and less tedious than cutting out thousands of little squares in windows! 😉
Debbie is one of my favorite bloggers, and, hate to say this, but I neglect visiting her often enough. She shares amazing decorating projects year-around! And, yes, beautiful tablescapes, of course too.
I began decorating for Christmas last weekend. Just wondering…are you in the throes of Christmas creativity?
