Glass Insulator Candle Holders

Glass Insulator Candle Holders

Do you have any of these insulators in your attic?  Painter Artist Mom (PAM) and I dug in her attic during my last visit.  She and Handy Builder Dad (HBD) have worked hard to clear things out over the last couple of years.

What happened to all the good junk that used to be up there?

We ran across these glass insulators (and more stuff that I’ll share later).  PAM and I perused Pinterest for ideas of ways to use these beauties.  Antique insulators made into votive holders were the only things we saw that looked interesting – and useful.

Glass Insulators

During most visits with PAM and HBD, we find time for antique shopping.  Of course, we found time for more on this trip, even when the purpose of my visit was to help PAM deep clean.  (Why let a little work get in the way of fun, huh?)

After collecting a couple of random metal holders, I came home with my new favorite antique votive holders.

The next time you see these insulators in an antique store, you might want to grab one or two.  While you’re at it, you might search for some old metal items that can hold the insulators.  You may be surprised at what you’ll find.

Have you discovered other uses for glass or ceramic insulators?  I’d love to hear about your ideas, so let’s discuss it, OK?

It was interesting to read a little history about insulators.  You can read about them HERE, if you’d like.

I hope you have a wonderfully fun weekend!

So interesting! I’ve never heard of glass insulators! They look beautiful on your window sill with the light shining through them! Great idea to use them as candle holders. That is probably what I would have thought they were if I had come across them!

These suit my fancy to ate. I’m always drawn to the insulators but haven’t a clever idea for how to use them. I’m amazed you found the perfect holders!

Thanks, Linda. It’s the same with me! I was amazed, as well, but if you have an insulator along, it’s surprising how many things fit the need. 🙂

I had half a dozen of these that I finally donated last year.. I wish that i had thought to search Pinterest for a way to use them! I wonder if my Mom has any… Thanks for sharing!
