The other day, I was in craft cave mode, and Spunky Daughter (age 17) was nearby. She brought a frame to me from her room and asked if I could paint it. She didn’t like it the way it was. Sorry, no before picture.
This is after one coat of paint, and you can see the old print a little through there. The next day, after 2 coats of white craft paint, I attempted to paint some royal blue swirlies on there. Sorry, no picture of that, either.
Well, not so sorry – it was aweful! Remember? I’m the wall painter, y’all. Not a pretty picture or design painter.
Time for the thinking cap, and my brain went straight to the pretty paper pack I’d picked up from Wal-Mart last week. When Spunky Daughter came home from school, I set her up for this fun crafty thing I knew she’d love.
She cut little rectangular pieces, Mod Podged them onto the frame, and was very pleased with her spunky self.
A little trimming and a couple more layers of Mod Podge.
It is “new” and fresh!
Thanks, Spunky Daughter, for entering the craft cave with me a little bit this week! I had so much fun!
If you have kids, aren’t they such a blessing to you?
So full of energy and innovation with they’re little, lazy and unmotivated at 15, and then…they begin to transform… into real people! They help us and have great ideas, opinions even (at times), and they show little snippets of who they will be “when they grow up”.
Family is a treasure, y’all, and I thank the Lord for mine. Do you?
