What did you do on Saturday? Did you work on a project, or did you do something fun?
You could say I did both. Isn’t it fun to sort through things and discover items you forgot you had? It’s like Christmas all over again.
During a recent discussion of this computer cabinet we no longer use, HH suggested getting rid of the monster. It sits in our upstairs TV area, but it’s not used now that we all have laptops.
I wanted to paint it. HH wanted to chunk it. Not me. Too much trouble getting it moved. Heavy, huge, but it holds lots of stuff.
Look at all the junk we’ve randomly stuck in there! And the TV hasn’t been used in about 4 years. Why do we still have that thing? Looks like a perfect Salvation Army donation to me. The only redeeming function of the monster is the game section stored in the bottom.
My current room project is the Craft Cave. I posted a picture of the messy, crammed-full, embarrassing room a couple of days ago in my post about the completion of Bedroom Painted – Check.
With plans to possibly move the Craft Cave into the freshly painted bedroom some day, that’s really been the focus in my mind. But what about for now? Can I really wait 6 more months to organize?
I shifted my brain to improvements to be made NOW. Totally transformed my thought processes. There was this huge monster taking up valuable floor space. Not even using it. What had I been thinking? Obviously, I had not.
After setting my brain free to explore the possibilities, I had a vision.
Tah-Dah!!! Didn’t know I had this much fabric, y’all. After being stuffed into every cabinet, chest of drawers, and storage box crammed in that tiny room I call a cave, it was ridiculous the volume of it all.
Not really a fabric horder, y’all. Just years and years of sewing for my home plus “the public”. I talk about that on my Window Treatments page.
The fabric has been set free. It says “Ahhh!”, and I do, as well. Now that I have all the new space available in the Craft Cave, my re-organization project will continue to all sorts of fun stuff. I’ll be back with more updates through the process, and then the final Craft Cave Tah-Dah.
Soon. Very soon. ‘Cause I’ve got projects waiting, y’all.
