I didn’t plan to share this recipe quite yet, but after taking these Pumpkin Nutella™ Bites to church Sunday, I had several requests for the recipe.
Why You Think You’re Reading This Post
Do you like Nutella™? OK, I think we all agree that, to ask that question, is like asking if you like breathing.
I’m very sorry if you can’t eat sugar and have to avoid eating Nutella™. Truly…my heart bleeds for you. Or, does it bleed for Nutella™? (I forget which one I bleed the most for. OK. You.)
If you’re like me, and you can’t imagine the flavor blend of Nutella™ with fall-spiced pumpkin melding around together in your mouth, you should try it and see.
The Real Reason You’re Reading This Post
I want to share my experience with you…the changes I made to make it a little easier. Always my goal…streamline.
The recipe says to bake the bottom crust before spreading the Nutella™ over it and then covering with more crust for the final bake.
Please don’t tell that Crazy for Crust woman, but I baked mine all at one time – for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. (Shhh…never insult a pro baker!)
And guess what…they turned out just fine.
First, you mix the sticky batter and press half of it into a foil-lined square pan.
Next, cover the dough with Nutella™ and follow it with more dough. Carefully. Spread globs to an even covering, then bake.
Remove the foil after it cools. Slice with a bread knife to squares sized to your liking. For some reason, I was in the mood for little bites.
That way, I feel like I’m not overdoing things when I eat two. Or five.
Call me crazy, but I would add one more thing…just one more glob of Nutella™ on top of every little Pumpkin Nutella™ Bite – just for the sake of bliss…
Yep, that’s me. If I started a food-only blog, that would be the name…Crazy Woman’s Kitchen. No. Wait…Nutty (as in Nutella™) Woman’s Kitchen. That says it all.
What do you think? Would fall spice mess up the Nutella™ flavor for you?
