When I think of what impacted me, uplifted me, and refocused me most this week, it was a Focus on the Family broadcast I heard on Wednesday. It’s rare when something hangs tighter than God’s holy word, but I believe God sometimes chooses to speak to us profoundly through others.
Karen Ehman’s words stuck in my mind through the remainder of the week, hearing her inspiring ideas over and over in my mind. In the broadcast, Karen talks about her book, Listen, Love, Repeat.
She speaks of changing our focus from ourselves to others. Imagine it. What would the world be like if we all put others first, like God tells us to do?
I could think of no better way to inspire you than to share Wednesday’s Focus on the Family broadcast with you. Click here to listen.
Karen narrows things down beautifully. Our purpose here on earth boils down to two things. Have you ever questioned your purpose? Here it is – actually two – the two most important reasons we’re here:
For relationship with God. God offers us a place in heaven with Him through faith,
and our second purpose is to take others with us!
I hope you enjoy the broadcast, and maybe you heard it already last week. How I’ve wasted time by NOT being more intentional to get to know others and to encourage them deeply, in meaningful and thoughtful ways, recognizing their service, and uplifting. Always uplifting. (Yay for Mr. Brown! I think you’ll love the Mr. Brown story. What an awesome and fun encouragement Karen’s family gave to Mr. Brown!)
Do Karen’s words inspire you to focus more on others than on yourself? Guess what. She’s right! That’s what we’re called to do!
PS – What an awesome book! Thank you, Karen Ehman!
