Almost two weeks ago, I published a post about easily transforming a Thanksgiving tablescape to a Christmas one. On the Christmas table, you saw the napkin rings that are the topic today.
These napkin rings aren’t hard at all, but I thought you might want to see how I made them.
I bought the box of sleigh bells on the T. J. Maxx clearance shelf last year after Christmas. When you see something that can be used in many different ways, it’s a good idea to snatch them when you find them cheap. The various sizes of bells will give me lots of mileage!
Burlap ribbon came wrapped around the clear plastic box of bells. What a bonus! (It always pays to take notice of packaging materials.)
I ironed the ribbon to press out the wrinkles, then cut them into strips about 8 inches long.
I made a simple loop of ribbon around my fingers and secured it with a dab of hot glue.
With red ribbon I found in my Project Studio storage drawer, I threaded the ribbon through the back loop of each bell.
Then, I tied the bells onto the burlap loops, knotted the ribbon behind the bell, and also gave it a dab of hot glue. (Aren’t you amazed at my originality and skill? Ha!)
See, easy peasy!
These don’t require much space for storage. Although, I might disassemble them at some point and use the burlap loop to attached something different for another tablescape theme.
There’s that versatility factor making another appearance. 🙂
I’ve talked to several people who have already decorated for Christmas, and not only bloggers (who, besides me, prepare in advance). I know I need to be moving forward with that, but it is so hard to get my mind there before Thanksgiving! Please tell me I’m not alone here.
Are you decorating for Christmas before Thanksgiving this year?
If you haven’t completed my quick (under 2 minutes) reader survey, here’s the link. Thanks again!
I’m sharing with Metamorphosis Monday, so join in on the fun!
