It surprises me sometimes what people notice. The details.
I don’t remember when I made this ribbon picture hanger. I’d not thought to blog about it until one of you asked about it last week. This observant reader (you know who you are, and I thank you) noticed it in a picture on my Chevron (Finally!) Tablescape post.
See how I learn from y’all? I need you. Your comments are fun, inspiring, and often very helpful. Not just for me, but for other readers, too.
Now that I know, all other posts were delayed so I could get right to this. Reader requests come first, you know.
For this project, you can use any type of wired ribbon. Mine has a burlap look, although it’s a little tighter weave than burlap fabric. Or, you could make your own wired burlap ribbon.
I thought I would give you the instructions today by way of my pictures.
I’ve said so much in recent posts…wore you out with all my words!
After scaling the Roman shade posts back to the absolute minimum, I still used way too many words.
And, you were so gracious not to complain.
Not a word. I don’t deserve you.
You have the patience of a saint.
So, today let’s have a nice chat. For fun.
No major instructions or tutorials. Yay!
We can pretend we’re having lunch, or meeting for coffee, or
You could tell me all about your day. You know…what’s going on with you. Stuff like that.
Pardon me, please. I need to add a note here. If you don’t trust your wired ribbon to hold the weight of your frame, you could always hang it the usual way. Then, extend the ribbon up and tack it to the wall.
Let’s continue where we were. 🙂
You could tell me about the weather where you are. Having more snow?
I would tell you about how two days ago it was very cold. Wintery. Completely. No sun. Wind. Cold.
And, yesterday I wore no jacket. Sunny. Warm. Hints of Spring.
I would tell you about the yellow crop-duster plane zipping by, all around our house. Don’t worry, he doesn’t spray us, nor our fields. I love how the pilot’s wing tips “hello” sometimes as he passes low. That’s a Southern gentleman for you – always neighborly and friendly.
We would discuss all our plans for warm weather days. Plan our gardens together. We’d talk about our favorite flowers and share planting techniques. Every-day friend stuff like that.
Because that’s what we are, y’all. Everyday friends. 🙂
