What have you been doing during these blazing hot days of summer? In the South, we have many more days of heat. Kids are starting school here next week. But, we are far from enjoying Fall weather!
When it’s hot outside, I stay inside as much as possible. Do you?
I’m focusing on a few decorating changes lately. I’ve spent a little time shopping for decorator fabrics, too – getting my sewing juices revved up. That got me thinking…
Are you organized?…….Like a professional decorator? I’m not.
Do you have a big personal household story board to carry with you into stores for easy coordinating and matching? I don’t.
But, I do have a system of my own. It’s simply………simple.
I keep an index card of fabric swatches and paint colors used in each room of our home. It helps me with matching items I need to purchase, like accessories or coordinating fabrics for new pillows or window treatments.
The pouch of cards fits nicely into my glove compartment.
Before going into a store for a little home decor shopping, I drop the pouch inside my purse. That’s the beauty of a pocket-sized index card room-by-room “story board” pouch. Not bulky. Not heavy.
Neat. Concise, Organized. Old-school – totally.
It works. I like to stick with what works well for me. Don’t you?
What is your system of organizing your room decor swatches? Does it work well for you? I can hardly wait to hear about it, y’all.
Thank you for visiting! ~ Just a note to remind you to follow me through email, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Google+ or Hometalk. Also, I’d love it if you shared Curtain Queen with all your sweet friends. Thanks, y’all.
I’m sharing this post with Metamorphosis Monday.
