Friends have been saying their pumpkins are rotting quickly this year.
Have you had that problem?
I painted this gourd to look sort of like a pumpkin earlier this season.
I wanted to tweak it just a little – to make it more fun. I hot-glued the end of some ribbon at the stem.
Then I wrapped the ribbon around several times, stopping at the top and bottom of the pumpkin each time I passed to hot-glue it there.
When I ended the ribbon at the stem of the pumpkin, I left a little length to the strand to mimic branch ends draping over.
Along with a larger plaid ribbon, I gathered two strands of skinny orange ribbon and tied a bow around the base of the stem.
Bring it on.
Early rot? Nahhh!
This pumpkin will be with us forever…
