I was in Hancock Fabrics last week, loading up on yarn for more of the scarves (also a great gift idea) I blogged about last week. If you missed it, click Fun Scarf in an Hour to check it out.
Back to my story, I was near the check-out line at Hancock’s when I spotted a wall of tote bags on sale. This one caught my eye immediately.
It being on sale for about $13, I thought this style could be used as a purse. So I snatched it off the wall and brought it home. (After paying for it, of course.)
I could just “see” an initial on the white part of this bag, so I took it upstairs to my crafty place and got my favorite spray fabric paint (awesome new find, y’all) in black, my letter stencil, and had a letter on it within 5 minutes.
I like to find something versatile that can be personalized as a gift for someone. This being my “practice” run, I put my letter on it, ’cause you know who gets the rejects if it doesn’t work out! I’m happy to say, it worked great, and I’m loving this “purse”. They had lots of colors, some solids, too. So try this when you need a quick personalized gift for birthday or Christmas, or make yourself one. Let me know about it in my comments, y’all!
