The second lamp of Lamp Week is in the same room as Retro Floor Lamp Got A Sweater. The nostalgia room, our guest room.
Formerly brass, it’s now a soft satin nickel finish. A touch lamp.
Wasn’t sure it would work after painting. (Our lamp subject today is the one pictured on the left.) After taping, painting, then removing tape, I tested it. Plugged it in and touched it. Relief! It worked perfectly fine.
So, the test proves you can paint a touch lamp.
The need of the update went past the lamp finish. Forgot to take a picture before I started the update, y’all. Old shade temporarily back on the painted lamp, I snapped a quick picture.
Go ahead and say it. A cone head. (Not you. The lamp.)
I visited a few stores to find a new shade. Looked for a week or so. Nothing seemed quite right.
While at Wal-Mart getting an oil change last week, there it was. (Yes, Wal-Mart! And for ten dollars!)
A rectangular shade.
I’m so glad you are here with me today. Be sure to visit tomorrow for lamp update #3. It’s on the other side of the bed in the nostalgia room. Yes, lots of updates to this much-neglected room!
Look out – I might even make some new curtains in there! Wouldn’t that be something?
