I hardly know what to say after the actions of our Supreme Court this week. You may be asking, “Why is God allowing this?”
Our dark world is getting darker. Because our nation was founded on Christian principles, we were under God’s protection for many, many years. But now, people have turned to worldly things to satisfy…and turned their backs on God.
We’ve seen God removed from everything related to government in the name of separation of church and state. Why would God rescue those who have turned against Him and tried to eliminate Him from their lives?
This week, someone quoted Billy Graham in saying how our society strives to eliminate any possibility of offending anyone – except God.
I agree with that statement. Even further, people confuse tolerance with embracing and want to force us to change our beliefs to theirs. Where’s the freedom in that? We used to have a free country…freedom of speech, but now they want to take our freedom of thought, as well.
Judgment is sure to come.
Even church attendees will be divided into two groups – the true believers and the pretenders.
He hasn’t abandoned us. As Christians, we know He is with us always. We will need to be brave in the days ahead. Worse persecution is coming.
People want to rewrite scripture to fit what they want it to say – to excuse the sin they are in. But you can’t change God’s Word. It means what it says.
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths. (2 Timothy 4:3-4)
That time has come. We’re seeing it.
And I know that whatever God does is final. Nothing can be added to it or taken from it. God’s purpose is that people should fear him. (Ecclesiastes 3:14)
We are to fear God and adhere to HIS commands, not change His commands to fit our lives. I’m not perfect, but God knows my heart. He knows I seek to glorify Him by the way I live, in obedience to Him. Oh, the freedom in that!
Thankfully, with many of you, I’m preaching to the choir here. You probably sense what will happen as we go forward. He can make us brave. He gives us strength.
After writing this post, HH told me about something he saw on line that’s related to my topic today. Here’s the link to an interview with Franklin Graham.
We praise our Lord on this spectacular Sunday – because He is on His throne and mighty to save!
