Add Spring From Inside to Out

I visited Shannon at Belle Bleu Interiors last week to see her easy spring vignette, her spring foyer, and her creative decorating idea.  Such lovely spring changes!  And, you’ll be tickled by the bunny in her foyer.

Shannon inspired me to make some changes to my foyer table, which is my great-grandmother’s vintage sewing machine..

I changed the square topper, and then added the Blue Willow vase of fake flowers from my Porch Living Tablescape.  Birds and a nest, and voila, a spring vignette was born!

Spring Birds Vignette

I found this white ceramic bird at Wally World last week.  At only ten dollars, who could resist?

After finishing the foyer vignette, I moved to the table in the family room.

Red Bud Bloom Arrangement

With little else in the yard providing color, I cut branches of red bud tree blooms.  Have you brought red bud tree branches inside as flowers?

I was surprised at the mess they make.  Add a branch from a bush or another small tree – for greenery.

Mom Two and I shopped at Tuesday morning one day last week.  This simple strand of hydrangea blooms provides a spring wreath arrangement instantaneously when placed over a twig wreath (from Wal-Mart).

Before buying, I stood there contemplating making my own version of blooms dangling from ribbons.  But, why make one when you can by it for cheaper than the supplies you’d have to collect?

On the ladder revived with paint above, I added a new bird house to further maximize bird house power.

Vintage Trailer Bird House

Do you have an appreciation for vintage travel trailers?  Spunky Daughter and I are still smitten with them!

Are your temps plunging back into the frozen zone  this week?

My anxious self put out hummingbird feeders last week after dreaming I saw one flitting around a bush.  Ha!

Of course it was a dream, and we saw no birds at the feeders.  Early yesterday morning, the feeders came inside before the sugar-water froze and cracked the bottles.  Not sure if sugar water freezes, but just in case…

Are you getting anxious to start your springing?  Can you limit yourself to minimal changes that won’t be affected by the weather?  {I’ll try, too (this time). We can do it…together.  Wink.}

Blessings~

Kim, what beautiful spring vignettes from your front door to the foyer and beyond. I love that you are using the antique sewing machine in your foyer. What a sweet welcome! No spring in my house yet, it looks like the dead of winter this morning! Happy Monday!

Love that burst of Spring in your home! Blue and white with pops of yellow are my absolute favorite color combo…my own house is full of that! My project this morning is to put out some Easter and Spring accessories. Is Mother Nature going through menopause?!? It is below freezing today, and my yard has azaleas blooming.

Haha! Thanks for the laugh. I agree – menopause for sure. Good luck bringing spring to your house today. I hope your azaleas survive! 🙂

You’re welcome, Shannon. You really did inspire me to change something that was left unattended for far too long! It’s a start for early spring. As the weather warms up, it’ll be time to do more on the porches. Won’t warmer weather be wonderful? Ha!

Thank you. It’s funny. I already had the Blue Willow pitcher of flowers sitting there from the earlier tablescape. But, when you add a few more things, you suddenly have a vignette. Ha! I just needed to finish the job. As far as weather, maybe we’re finally having our winter! 🙂

    So springy! Love it!
I am looking at my mantel now and laughing. I didn’t take down the snowmen yet.
Blizzard. Tomorrow. Maybe somehow I knew. Hahaha
I went to my usual few stores Sunday to get food, not a lot, just A few things we need for the week, and people were nuts. You would think we were about to get snowed in for 2 weeks by what they were buying. Or they have 10 people in their family who eat a LOT. People crack me up. Lol

We do tend to see panic when we hear of bad weather coming. People go crazy buying food like there’s no tomorrow – even for the shortest of storms. Although, we sometimes have those power outages for days, so being prepared for it might be a really smart thing. Ha! Your snowmen will fit your weather perfectly. So glad you didn’t get to that project of putting them away.
