It’s birthday month here at Hood Manor. Three of the four of us have birthdays – one each week for three weeks in a row.
Poor Spunky Daughter. When she was little, she’d cry and cry because everyone was getting presents except her. Then she’d be happy later when she got her very own month – all to herself.
I’ve set this table because I know that at some point this month, we’ll all gather together to celebrate one or all our August birthdays. If PAM and HBD (Painter Artist Mom and Handy Builder Dad) visit, there will be another August birthday to include.
So, a table for six, please…
It’s just too hot here for an outdoor meal.
I love the colors in these outdoor plates, so I decided we can use them inside this time.
Candles are in a bowl of M-n-M’s rather than a cake. (How would you make one cake last for three weeks and still taste good?)
Can you imagine having three different cakes in your house three weeks in a row? Not good. Although, here are three of our favorites. Click the picture to see the recipe.
THE cake below is my personal favorite that I don’t make very often because I want to eat the entire thing all at once like a complete pig!
This is the cake I take on my high-school girl’s trip each year. Yum~
This is a deliciously moist traditional birthday cake with the perfect hint of almond. This one is white cake with chocolate frosting. The yellow cake with vanilla frosting is good, too. You can make it either way you like best. Are you salivating as much as I am?
We’d better move on before I head into the kitchen and bake a cake. I’d purposely “forgotten” how much I love all of these cakes!
When we gather around this table, we’ll share one cake. I wonder which one it will be….
Maybe we’ll each have our own egg cup of peanut M-n-M’s this year and forget cake.
I don’t have enough star napkins for six, so I mixed them with yellow ruffled ones.
The birthday celebs get the stars.
Candles are lit…join us for singing the birthday song.
Happy birthday to you…
Does your family have several birthdays that fall in the same month? Do you share one cake?
