Looking back on 2014, I now see it differently than when we were in it. It was a hard year. Hindsight is clearer. We begin 2015 afresh, and I say the word jubilant with a little bit of pause to remind myself that I will daily choose to look to the Lord for, in fact, a jubilant year.
This, my third attempt to write this post, simplifies our spiritual journey during 2014. I’ll leave it at this – a year of pruning.
Not that we were cut off. No, we have been pruned for more fruit-bearing.
For a little review, do you remember my Word for 2014?
It was more of an appropriate word for 2014 than I ever imagined at the time. As we close our year, we continue to look through our lens of yet.
Yet, what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later. (Romans 8:18)
And, so we wait….
But while we wait, we continue to love and serve and minister and follow God’s leading.
Sometimes, we don’t know when, or why, or how, or if, or what. God enters with a nudge in a certain direction, and then it all u n f o l d s .
Throughout 2015, I’ll be reading through the Bible with a group of wonderful women for the Jubilee Journey Challenge. You’re invited, too! This is a jubilee year on the Jewish calendar, so that’s part of the reason for the name. Rather than trying to explain everything by repeating fine words of others, let me just lead you to them and let them tell you directly.
Sue at thet2women.com blog (The T2 Women, as in Titus 2) is leading the study through the Jubilee Journey group Facebook page. Several women will publish postings, taking turns daily, on Facebook as we read along. Everyone following along can share their personal tidbits along the way on the group’s page. It’s going to be such fun, and God is already showing off there!
To read more about it, visit thet2women.com and sign up for daily posts that will go along with the study. Also, if you have a Facebook account, visit Jubilee Journey Facebook Group to join the group so you can get the Facebook postings each day and join in the conversation. Don’t we women love to share and discuss and enjoy the company of other women?
Sue and I met through our blogs quite awhile ago, and we’ve kept in touch behind the scenes through email and text. I thought I could quietly join the Facebook group for Jubilee Journey and be a “quiet member”. (Ha! Y’all probably know that “quiet” and “me” don’t really go together.)
While I had a certain level of anonymity in mind, Sue immediately contacted me when she saw my name pop up as someone joining the group. Long story short, I will be publishing occasional posts at The T2 Women as God leads me to share during 2015. When that happens, I’ll probably provide a link for you to hop over to The T2 Women and read the post if you wish.
I see the truth of John 15:2 unfolding before me. God is so sneaky sometimes! I’m sure things will get very tight, schedule-wise, through 2015, but I’m committed to continue what He called me to do here at CQC. When God gives us a task, He provides the means and the time. I’m confident He will organize my time so that I can do the additional writing since He got me into it! 🙂
I hope you’ll decide to join the Jubilee Journey challenge. Sue talks about using the iworship Daily Devotional Bible to read through the Bible. That devotional Bible is out of print, so I quickly ordered a used copy from Amazon. But…now that I have it in front of me, the print is too light for me to read easily.
Since the iworship Bible is exactly like my favorite Bible but with devotional pages added, I will use my regular Bible. No special Bible is necessary. Sue will post the daily reading schedule each week, and that will be our reading guide. We’re starting at the beginning, in Genesis, on January first.
I hope to see you over at Jubilee Journey Facebook Group. It’s going to be a fun year of reading and sharing with new friends during 2015!
Our Lord is Mighty and True! Jesus, our Redeemer, deserves our praise every day, and especially on this spectacular Sunday!
